All scissor lifts are machines that are characterized by their small size relative to their reach: when folded, they take up very little space in storage and transportation. Scissor lifts for work in covered facilities are electrically powered devices, which excludes pollution by exhaust fumes and makes the noise of the device virtually imperceptible. Thanks to the mobility of scissor lifts, work at heights can be carried out without taking the premises out of normal use, which is not possible with conventional scaffolding. Small wheels, high maneuverability and precise steering allow safe maneuvering in tight spaces (such as narrow warehouse alleys). In areas where cleanliness and high aesthetic standards are important, non-marking tires can be used, which do not leave marks on light floors.
The most common applications for scissor lifts for indoor work are related to the need to carry out work at considerable heights and in many different locations. Most often, these are tasks that take a relatively short time, but require the use of specialized materials and tools (in considerable quantity and weight that precludes placing them in an assembler's belt):
- Installation and repair work - installation and repair of HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), lighting, electrical, IT and other components,
- finishing works and corrections - painting, mudding, installation of suspended ceilings and many other construction and finishing works in high spaces (halls, warehouses, large-format stores),
- washing windows - washing windows and roof glazing and any other work related to the cleaning of ceilings and equipment mounted at great heights,
- billboards and ornaments - scissor lifts are ideal for the installation of advertisements and banners, as well as various types of decorations, including, among others, the extremely popular decorative elements associated with various holidays (flags for national holidays, lighting for Christmas),
- operation of high-bay shelving - from the platform of the scissor lift, you can perform assembly and repairs, carry out painting work, as well as picking of goods in high-bay warehouses.
5 scissor lift applications for outdoor and off-road work
Universal electric scissor lifts for indoor and outdoor work, as well as off-road scissor lifts, are distinguished by their large wheels and tires suitable for driving on difficult surfaces (high tread, pneumatic tires). Multi-purpose lifts have electric drive, while off-road lifts are powered by diesel engines. The ability to climb hills and cope with sandy and muddy surfaces makes scissor lifts effective for the following jobs:
- Cleaning of windows and facades of buildings - glazed facades, as well as non-tilted windows can be cleaned only from the outside, for which scissor lifts are ideal: cleaning can be performed from them directly, as well as with telescopic washers, which significantly increases the range of work,

installation, repair and cleaning of guttering systems - scissor lifts allow us to carry out most guttering work, including the safe removal of ice overhangs and partial snow removal from roofs in winter, - Stand work - off-road scissor lifts can prove very useful in maintenance work in high stands: removal of dry, fall-threatening branches, formative and curative pruning.
