What formalities need to be completed when hiring construction machinery?

Every construction or renovation job requires a specialist. With their help the work goes much more smoothly and at the right pace. Not only do construction companies offer their customers access to the extensive machine park. Most teams do not have their own scaffolding, containers, lifting platforms, mini-excavators, winches or diesel compactors. If such equipment is needed, it is best to opt for companies that specialise in the rental of construction machinery.

What documents will be necessary to hire construction machinery?

  • Individuals If we are an individual customer, we will need an identity card and another identification document with a photograph in order to hire construction machinery. You will also need to pay an appropriate deposit, the amount of which is determined individually on the basis of the value of the equipment you wish to hire.
  • Individuals who are self-employed If you are self-employed, you will need your own or your partner's identity card. When renting machines whose value exceeds PLN 20,000, we will also need to prepare a Social Security certificate or a statement of payment of Social Security contributions. The employee of the rental company will also need to see our REGON and CEIDG - ours and that of all the partners.
  • General partnerships, limited partnerships, limited joint-stock partnerships, limited liability companies, S.A. If construction machinery is rented by companies, all registration documents, i.e. KRS and REGON, must be prepared.
  • Budgetary or self-governmental units As in the case of companies, it will be necessary to show the KRS and REGON, as well as a previously prepared order that has been signed by the head of the respective unit.

What else to bear in mind?

In addition to ensuring that all the formalities and documents necessary for hiring construction machinery are in place, there are a few other things to bear in mind. It is important to pick up such machines with a suitable truck, van or trailer, on which we can transport the rented equipment to the construction site. If we have any concerns about service or the assembly and disassembly of the equipment, we can purchase such services from the company hiring us the equipment. In most cases, the rental will involve the payment of an appropriate deposit, which is set individually depending on the value of the machines to be rented.
