Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Facility
After expansion, the incineration plant in Targówek, Warsaw, will become the largest thermal waste processing installation in Poland. It will process 300,000 tonnes of waste per year, while generating energy for the city.

Following the expansion, the incineration plant in Warsaw's Targówek district will increase its capacity almost sevenfold, processing almost 300,000 tonnes of waste per year and producing heat and electricity for the city. The state-of-the-art plant, which meets high environmental standards, will ensure effective treatment of flue gases and the elimination of odours and noise. In addition to its energy function, the facility will become a tourist attraction with an educational trail, a viewpoint on the chimney and green roofs with a meadow and an apiary. The project is being developed by POSCO Engineering & Construction Co. and is expected to be completed in 2025.
Construction equipment rental company Ramirent in Warsaw at 95 Płowiecka Street played a key role in the project, providing the necessary construction equipment. Mini-excavators and loaders assisted with earthworks and material transport, while construction haulers transported rubble and soil. Lifters enabled the installation of structures at great heights, and pumps ensured effective drainage. Hammers and cutters were used for demolition and site preparation, allowing the work to be carried out accurately and efficiently.
CHALLENGE
Ramirent faced the challenges of delivering equipment quickly, organising logistics efficiently and replacing machines flexibly in the event of breakdowns. An important task was also to ensure continuous service and maintenance to prevent downtime and guarantee uninterrupted execution of construction work.
