A pallet truck is a lifting truck: lifting the forks is done to a maximum height of a few to about 20 cm above the ground. Fork spacing and length can vary greatly, depending on the model. The pallet truck makes it possible to transport loads of considerable weight, usually reaching 2.5 tons. Unlike lift forklifts it does not require an electric or combustion drive. This is one of the biggest advantages of the manual pallet truck: the lack of complex hydraulic, mechanical and drive systems translates into a very low failure rate. In addition, the hand pallet truck is very simple and inexpensive to operate - apart from periodic lubrication or replacement of worn out travel rollers, it requires virtually no maintenance.
